Collaborations and Partnerships

What We're Doing and Our Growing Network

Direct Linkages

FFI has helped build direct relationships between farmer groups and restaurants, hotels, and food manufacturers across Luzon — replacing multi-layered, low-trust supply chains with direct, accountable ones.

A Product Born From Trust

When tomato season created a glut, a cross-sector team worked with FFI to turn excess tomatoes into a product the hospitality and catering industry could actually use. It took five months to develop a viable product — and eight months of relationship-building with farmer groups, in close coordination with Department of Agriculture regional offices in Ilocos and the Cordillera, to get there.

Weekend Markets

FFI-supported weekend markets give farmer groups a low-stakes way to build direct-selling confidence and market understanding — farmers set their own prices and deal directly with customers. A market at UP Diliman, opened in 2024, now hosts farmers from Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, and Benguet.

Trade Show Presence

FFI brings farmer groups to trade fairs like WOFEX, equipping them with the skills to convert connections into real business leads — typically 6–8 months from first contact to a long-term arrangement.

Conferences and Seminars

Our conferences and seminars aim to bring together different stakeholders to work collaboratively. Through these events, we would like to bridge the different gaps for Farmers Cooperatives and Associations to directly cater the spectrum of clients in the broader market.

1st FFI Conference — 2025

FFI's first Conference was held during WOFEX 2025 at the SMX Convention Center. Farmer clusters from five regions showcased their farms, products, and experiences directly to food industry leaders, opening a platform to discuss both the challenges and opportunities in building a stronger food supply chain.

A Network That Keeps Growing

Since 2022, FFI has steadily expanded from a handful of pilot areas — Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Benguet, and Mountain Province — into a growing network of farmer and fisherfolk groups across Luzon.
